A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Apple watchOS up to 3.1.2 (Smartwatch Operating System). This affects an unknown part of the component FontParser. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. Multiple memory corruption issues existed in the handling of font files. These issues were addressed through improved bounds checking.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 3 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
