A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in eClinicalWorks healow@work 8.0 Build 8. This issue affects the function select_loadfile of the component EmployeePortalServlet. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability (Blind). Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. An issue was discovered in eClinicalWorks healow@work 8.0 build 8. This is a blind SQL injection within the EmployeePortalServlet, which can be exploited by un-authenticated users via an HTTP POST request and which can be used to dump database data out to a malicious server, using an out-of-band technique, such as select_loadfile(). The vulnerability affects the EmployeePortalServlet page and the following parameter: employer.
The bug was discovered 01/27/2017. The weakness was shared 01/27/2017 by Roberto Suggi Liverani (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at gist.github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-5598 since 01/27/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
