A vulnerability was found in Moxa SoftCMS up to 1.5 (Automation Software). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown function of the component ASP Server. An issue was discovered in Moxa SoftCMS versions prior to Version 1.6. A specially crafted URL request sent to the SoftCMS ASP Webserver can cause a double free condition on the server allowing an attacker to modify memory locations and possibly cause a denial of service or the execution of arbitrary code.
The bug was discovered 11/17/2016. The weakness was presented 02/13/2017 with Zero Day Initiative (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2016-8360 since 09/28/2016. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
