An issue was discovered in Advantech SUISAccess Server Version 3.0 and prior. The admin password is stored in the system and is encrypted with a static key hard-coded in the program. Attackers could reverse the admin account password for use.
The bug was discovered 12/01/2016. The weakness was presented 02/13/2017 by rgod with Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-9353 since 11/16/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
