Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Hanwha Techwin Smart Security Manager up to 1.5. Affected is an unknown code block. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
An issue was discovered in Hanwha Techwin Smart Security Manager Versions 1.5 and prior. Multiple Path Traversal vulnerabilities have been identified. The flaws exist within the ActiveMQ Broker service that is installed as part of the product. By issuing specific HTTP requests, if a user visits a malicious page, an attacker can gain access to arbitrary files on the server. Smart Security Manager Versions 1.4 and prior to 1.31 are affected by these vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities can allow for remote code execution.
The bug was discovered 02/09/2017. The weakness was presented 02/13/2017 by Steven Seeley (Website). The advisory is shared for download at ics-cert.us-cert.gov.
