An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. iOS before 10.1 is affected. macOS before 10.12.1 is affected. tvOS before 10.0.1 is affected. watchOS before 3.1 is affected. The issue involves the "AppleMobileFileIntegrity" component, which allows remote attackers to spoof signed code by using a matching team ID.
The bug was discovered 02/20/2017. The weakness was presented 02/20/2017 by Mark Mentovai with Google Inc. as HT207269 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with Apple. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-7584 since 09/09/2016. The attack can be launched remotely.
