A vulnerability was found in Aerospike Database Server 3.10.0.3 (Database Software). It has been declared as critical. An exploitable out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in the batch transaction field parsing functionality of Aerospike Database Server 3.10.0.3. A specially crafted packet can cause an out-of-bounds write resulting in memory corruption which can lead to remote code execution. An attacker can simply connect to the port to trigger this vulnerability.
The bug was discovered 02/21/2017. The weakness was published 02/21/2017 by Cisco with Cisco Talos (Website). The advisory is shared for download at talosintelligence.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-9051 since 10/26/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
