A vulnerability was found in GPG Suite. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function installPackage of the component installerHelper. The manipulation of the argument xmlPath with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-77. The installPackage function in the installerHelper subcomponent in Libmacgpg in GPG Suite before 2015.06 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges via shell metacharacters in the xmlPath argument.
The bug was discovered 08/14/2015. The weakness was disclosed 02/23/2017 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at gpgtools.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2014-4677 since 06/26/2014.
