IBM QRadar 7.2 stores the encryption key used to encrypt the service account password which can be obtained by a local user. IBM Reference #: 1997340.

The bug was discovered 02/27/2017. The weakness was disclosed 03/01/2017 by Paul (Website). The advisory is shared at ibm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-2880 since 03/09/2016. An attack has to be approached locally. Required for exploitation is a simple authentication. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1600.001 for this issue.
