Rapid7 AppSpider Pro installers prior to version 6.14.053 contain a DLL preloading vulnerability, wherein it is possible for the installer to load a malicious DLL located in the current working directory of the installer.

The bug was discovered 03/02/2017. The weakness was released 03/02/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared at community.rapid7.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-5233 since 01/09/2017. An attack has to be approached locally. Required for exploitation is a simple authentication.
