A vulnerability was found in Revive Adserver up to 4.0.0 (Advertising Software) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown code block of the component Forgot Password. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a session fixiation vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-384. Authenticating a user, or otherwise establishing a new user session, without invalidating any existing session identifier gives an attacker the opportunity to steal authenticated sessions. Session fixation vulnerability in the forgot password mechanism in Revive Adserver before 4.0.1, when setting a new password, allows remote attackers to hijack web sessions via the session ID.
