A vulnerability has been found in Nortel Contivity VPN Client up to 5.0 (Network Encryption Software) and classified as problematic. Nortel Networks Contivity VPN Client displays a different error message depending on whether the username is valid or invalid, which could allow remote attackers to gain sensitive information.
The bug was discovered 11/08/2004. The weakness was released 11/08/2004 by K. K. Mookhey with Network Intelligence India (Website). The advisory is shared for download at nii.co.in. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-1105 since 11/30/2004. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
