A vulnerability was found in PostfixAdmin up to 3.0.1. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function gen_show_status of the file delete.php of the component AliasHandler. The manipulation of the argument delete with an unknown input leads to a permission vulnerability (Delete). The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-275. The AliasHandler component in PostfixAdmin before 3.0.2 allows remote authenticated domain admins to delete protected aliases via the delete parameter to delete.php, involving a missing permission check.
The bug was discovered 03/20/2017. The weakness was shared 03/20/2017 by Christian Boltz (oss-sec). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-5930 since 02/07/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. Required for exploitation is a single authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1222 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
It is declared as highly functional. By approaching the search of inurl:delete.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. Upgrading to version 3.0.2 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be patching the affected component. A possible mitigation has been published even before and not after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
