Multiple Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) were discovered in SLiMS 7 Cendana before 2017-03-16. The vulnerabilities exist due to insufficient filtration of user-supplied data (id) passed to the 'slims7_cendana-master/template/default/detail_template.php' and 'slims7_cendana-master/template/default-rtl/detail_template.php' URLs. An attacker could execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a browser in the context of the vulnerable website.

The bug was discovered 03/03/2017. The weakness was disclosed 03/21/2017 by Venustech with Adlab of Venustech (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2017-7202 since 03/21/2017. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.

The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 18 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. Upgrading to version 2017-03-16 eliminates this vulnerability.
