The bug was discovered 03/27/2017. The weakness was disclosed 03/27/2017 by Erling Ellingsen as HT207617 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-2399 since 12/01/2016. Local access is required to approach this attack. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The pasteboard was encrypted with a key protected only by the hardware UID. This issue was addressed by encrypting the pasteboard with a key protected by the hardware UID and the user's passcode.
Upgrading to version 10.3 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
