Clearswift MIMEsweeper 5.0.5, when it has been upgraded from MAILsweeper for SMTP version 4.3 or MAILsweeper Business Suite I or II, allows remote attackers to bypass scanning by including encrypted data in a mail message, which causes the message to be marked as "Clean" instead of "Encrypted".

The weakness was presented 11/11/2004 with Clearswift (Website). The advisory is shared for download at download.mimesweeper.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-2703 since 10/06/2007. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
