A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Apple iOS up to 10.2 (Smartphone Operating System). Affected by this issue is the function disconnectSubframes of the component WebKit. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability (Universal). Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-79. The bug was discovered 03/28/2017. The weakness was shared 03/27/2017 by Natalie Silvanovich (lokihardt) with Google Project Zero as HT207617 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-2445 since 12/01/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. A logic issue existed in the handling of frame objects. This issue was addressed with improved state management.
