A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in OpenSLP 2.0.0. Affected by this issue is the function xrealloc of the file xlsp_xmalloc.c. The _xrealloc function in xlsp_xmalloc.c in OpenSLP 2.0.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and crash) via a large number of crafted packets, which triggers a memory allocation failure.
The bug was discovered 05/23/2016. The weakness was presented 03/27/2017 (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com.
