A maliciously crafted URL to a Django (1.10 before 1.10.7, 1.9 before 1.9.13, and 1.8 before 1.8.18) site using the ``django.views.static.serve()`` view could redirect to any other domain, aka an open redirect vulnerability.
The bug was discovered 04/05/2017. The weakness was shared 04/04/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-7234 since 03/22/2017. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
