A vulnerability has been found in libxslt up to 1.1.29 and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function Math.random of the component EXSLT. In libxslt 1.1.29 and earlier, the EXSLT math.random function was not initialized with a random seed during startup, which could cause usage of this function to produce predictable outputs.
The bug was discovered 11/20/2015. The weakness was released 04/05/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.gnome.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-9019 since 04/05/2017. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1600.001 for this issue.
