A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in apt-cacher and apt-cacher-ng (the affected version unknown). Affected by this issue is an unknown part of the component Regular Expression Handler. The manipulation with the input value %0[ad] leads to a response splitting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-113. The product receives data from an HTTP agent/component (e.g., web server, proxy, browser, etc.), but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes CR and LF characters before the data is included in outgoing HTTP headers. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
apt-cacher before 1.7.15 and apt-cacher-ng before 3.4 allow HTTP response splitting via encoded newline characters, related to lack of blocking for the %0[ad] regular expression.
The bug was discovered 04/14/2017. The weakness was released 04/05/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at bugs.debian.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-7443 since 04/05/2017.
