A vulnerability was found in Atlassian JIRA Server up to 7.1.8 (Bug Tracking Software). It has been declared as problematic. Atlassian JIRA Server before 7.1.9 has CSRF in auditing/settings.
The bug was discovered 07/07/2016. The weakness was disclosed 04/10/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-4319 since 04/27/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 276 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 11876 (Atlassian JIRA Server Multiple Security Vulnerabilities (JRASERVER-61803, JRASERVER-61861)).
Upgrading to version 7.1.9 eliminates this vulnerability.
