Details
A vulnerability was found in TeamPass up to 2.1.24 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in TeamPass 2.1.24 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) id parameter in an action_on_quick_icon action to item.query.php or the (2) order or (3) direction parameter in an (a) connections_logs, (b) errors_logs or (c) access_logs action to view.query.php.
The weakness was released 04/12/2017 as EDB-ID 39559 as confirmed exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is shared for download at exploit-db.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-7564 since 09/29/2015. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
A public exploit has been developed by Vincent Malguy and been published even before and not after the advisory. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 394 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at Exploit-DB (39559). Entries connected to this vulnerability are available at VDB-99715 and VDB-99714. Once again VulDB remains the best source for vulnerability data.
