concrete5 8.1.0 Cache Host Header Stored cross site scripting

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in concrete5 8.1.0. Affected is some unknown processing of the component Cache Handler. The manipulation as part of a Host Header leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability (Stored). CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-79. The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users. This is going to have an impact on integrity. CVE summarizes:

concrete5 8.1.0 places incorrect trust in the HTTP Host header during caching, if the administrator did not define a "canonical" URL on installation of concrete5 using the "Advanced Options" settings. Remote attackers can make a GET request with any domain name in the Host header; this is stored and allows for arbitrary domains to be set for certain links displayed to subsequent visitors, potentially an XSS vector.

The bug was discovered 04/14/2017. The weakness was published 04/13/2017 by John Page (hyp3rlinx) as EDB-ID 41885 as confirmed exploit (Exploit-DB).
