A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in LibreOffice (Office Suite Software) (affected version not known). This issue affects the function tools::Polygon::Insert of the file tools/source/generic/poly.cxx. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a out-of-bounds write vulnerability. LibreOffice before 2017-01-02 has an out-of-bounds write caused by a heap-based buffer overflow related to the tools::Polygon::Insert function in tools/source/generic/poly.cxx.
The bug was discovered 01/02/2017. The weakness was disclosed 04/14/2017 with Google Project Zero (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-7870 since 04/14/2017. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
