A vulnerability has been found in Todd Miller sudo up to 1.8.14 on Linux (Operating System Utility Software) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function system/popen of the file sudo_noexec.so. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a access control vulnerability. sudo_noexec.so in Sudo before 1.8.15 on Linux might allow local users to bypass intended noexec command restrictions via an application that calls the (1) system or (2) popen function.
The bug was discovered 12/06/2016. The weakness was released 04/14/2017 as Bug 1372830 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-7032 since 08/23/2016. Local access is required to approach this attack. A single authentication is necessary for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
