Multiple memory leaks in t1_lib.c in OpenSSL before 1.0.1u, 1.0.2 before 1.0.2i, and 1.1.0 before 1.1.0a allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via large OCSP Status Request extensions.
The bug was discovered 09/22/2016. The weakness was released 04/19/2017 by Shi Lei with Qihoo 360 as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - April 2017 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at oracle.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-6304 since 07/26/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
