A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Joomla CMS (Content Management System). This issue affects an unknown code block of the component Template Manager. In Joomla! 3.2.0 through 3.6.5 (fixed in 3.7.0), inadequate escaping of file and folder names leads to XSS vulnerabilities in the template manager component.
The bug was discovered 02/28/2017. The weakness was published 04/25/2017 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at developer.joomla.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-7987 since 04/20/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
