A vulnerability has been found in Moodle 2.x/3.x (Learning Management Software) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the component Configuration Setting Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. In Moodle 2.x and 3.x, a CSRF attack is possible that allows attackers to change the "number of courses displayed in the course overview block" configuration setting.
The bug was discovered 05/15/2017. The weakness was released 05/15/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at moodle.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-7491 since 04/05/2017.
