A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Apple Safari up to 10.1.0 (Web Browser). This issue affects an unknown code block of the component WebKit. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability (Universal). Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-79. The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users. Impacted is integrity.
The bug was discovered 05/10/2017. The weakness was released 05/15/2017 by Richard Zhu (lokihardt) with Google Project Zero as HT207804 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-2510 since 12/01/2016. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
