A vulnerability has been found in libsndfile 1.0.28 (Audio Processing Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function aiff_read_chanmap of the file aiff.c of the component AIFF File Handler. In libsndfile version 1.0.28, an error in the "aiff_read_chanmap()" function (aiff.c) can be exploited to cause an out-of-bounds read memory access via a specially crafted AIFF file.
The bug was discovered 06/13/2017. The weakness was presented 06/12/2017 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-6892 since 03/14/2017.
