A vulnerability has been found in Foscam C1 Indoor HD Camera 2.52.2.37 (Network Camera Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown function of the component Web Management Interface. The manipulation as part of a HTTP Request leads to a command injection vulnerability. A specially crafted HTTP request can allow for a user to inject arbitrary data in the "msmtprc" configuration file resulting in command execution. An attacker can simply send an HTTP request to the device to trigger this vulnerability.

The bug was discovered 06/19/2017. The weakness was published 06/27/2017 by Cisco with Cisco Talos (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-2843 since 12/01/2016. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
