A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Foscam C1 Indoor HD Camera 2.52.2.37 (Network Camera Software). This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the component Web Management Interface. The manipulation as part of a HTTP Request leads to a command injection vulnerability. An exploitable command injection vulnerability exists in the web management interface used by the Foscam C1 Indoor HD Camera running application firmware 2.52.2.37. A specially crafted HTTP request can allow for a user to inject arbitrary shell characters during account creation resulting in command injection. An attacker can simply send an HTTP request to the device to trigger this vulnerability.
The bug was discovered 06/19/2017. The weakness was presented 06/21/2017 by Cisco with Cisco Talos (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-2828 since 12/01/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. The successful exploitation requires a single authentication.
