A vulnerability was found in Apple iOS up to 6.1.4 (Smartphone Operating System). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality of the component Passcode Lock. Passcode Lock in Apple iOS before 7 does not properly manage the lock state, which allows physically proximate attackers to bypass an intended passcode requirement by leveraging a race condition involving phone calls and ejection of a SIM card.

A race condition issue existed in the handling of phone calls and SIM card ejection at the lock screen. This issue was addressed through improved lock state management.This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-5147 since 08/15/2013. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
