A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, was found in Apple iOS up to 6.1.4 (Smartphone Operating System). This affects an unknown function of the component WebKit. Google Chrome before 25.0.1364.97 on Windows and Linux, and before 25.0.1364.99 on Mac OS X, does not properly implement web audio nodes, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption) or possibly have unspecified other impact via unknown vectors.

Multiple memory corruption issues existed in WebKit. These issues were addressed through improved memory handling.This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-0879 since 01/07/2013. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 05/25/2021). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 74920 (openSUSE Security Update : chromium (openSUSE-SU-2013:0454-1)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family SuSE Local Security Checks.
