A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in FreeRADIUS up to 2.2.9 (Network Authentication Software). This affects the function fr_dhcp_decode_options. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. An FR-GV-205 issue in FreeRADIUS 2.x before 2.2.10 allows "DHCP - Buffer over-read in fr_dhcp_decode_options()" and a denial of service.
The bug was discovered 06/18/2017. The weakness was released 07/17/2017 by Guido Vranken (Website). The advisory is shared at freeradius.org.
