A vulnerability was found in Oracle MySQL Cluster up to 7.3.5 (Database Software). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is some unknown processing of the component CLSTCONF. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Buffer overflow in the socket.recvfrom_into function in Modules/socketmodule.c in Python 2.5 before 2.7.7, 3.x before 3.3.4, and 3.4.x before 3.4rc1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted string.
The bug was discovered 01/14/2014. The weakness was disclosed 07/19/2017 by ryan as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - July 2017 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at oracle.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2014-1912 since 02/07/2014. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
