A vulnerability has been found in eShop Plugin up to 6.3.11 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function eshop_checkout of the file checkout.php. The manipulation of the argument eshopcart as part of a Cookie leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-79. The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users. The eshop_checkout function in checkout.php in the Wordpress Eshop plugin 6.3.11 and earlier does not validate variables in the "eshopcart" HTTP cookie, which allows remote attackers to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks, or a path disclosure attack via crafted variables named after target PHP variables.
The bug was discovered 05/06/2015. The weakness was published 07/21/2017 with High-Tech Bridge Security Research Lab. (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-3421 since 04/27/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
