In all Qualcomm products with Android releases from CAF using the Linux kernel, if a pointer argument coming from userspace is invalid, a driver may use an uninitialized structure to log an error message.
The bug was discovered 08/05/2017. The weakness was released 08/18/2017 by Security Team with Qihoo 360 (Website). The advisory is shared at source.android.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-9680 since 06/15/2017. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
