The OSPF functionality in Cisco IOS and IOS XE allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (device reload) via crafted options in an LSA type 11 packet, aka Bug ID CSCui21030.
The weakness was disclosed 10/09/2013 with Cisco as Cisco IOS Software OSPF Opaque LSA Denial of Service Vulnerability as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at tools.cisco.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-5527 since 08/22/2013.
