A vulnerability was found in Helpdesk Pro Plugin up to 1.3.x on Joomla (Joomla Component). It has been classified as problematic. This affects an unknown functionality of the file ticket.download_attachment. The manipulation of the argument filename with the input value .. leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. The bug was discovered 07/21/2015. The weakness was presented 09/20/2017 by Gregor Mynarsky, Kristian Varnai and Simon Rawet as EDB-ID 37666 as not defined exploit (Exploit-DB). It is possible to read the advisory at exploit-db.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2015-4074 since 05/22/2015. The exploitability is told to be easy.
