The Helpdesk Pro plugin before 1.4.0 for Joomla! allows remote attackers to write to arbitrary .ini files via a crafted language.save task.

The bug was discovered 07/21/2015. The weakness was shared 09/20/2017 by Gregor Mynarsky, Kristian Varnai and Simon Rawet as EDB-ID 37666 as not defined exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is shared for download at exploit-db.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-4075 since 05/22/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1055.
