The MySQL "root" user in Xsuite 2.3.0 and 2.4.3.0 does not have a password set, which allows local users to access databases on the system.
The bug was discovered 07/22/2015. The weakness was presented 09/25/2017 with modzero AG as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-4669 since 06/19/2015. Attacking locally is a requirement. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1505 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
