A vulnerability was found in Accellion File Transfer Appliance (File Transfer Software). It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function template of the component Cookie Handler. The manipulation of the argument statecode with the input value .. leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in the template function in function.inc in Accellion File Transfer Appliance devices before FTA_9_11_210 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the statecode cookie.
