A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Windows up to XP SP2 (Operating System). It has been declared as critical. Integer overflow in the LoadImage API of the USER32 Lib for Microsoft Windows allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a .bmp, .cur, .ico or .ani file with a large image size field, which leads to a buffer overflow, aka the "Cursor and Icon Format Handling Vulnerability."
The bug was discovered 12/23/2004. The weakness was disclosed 12/20/2004 by Flashsky with X-Focus (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at xfocus.net.
