Type confusion in PDFium in Google Chrome prior to 60.0.3112.78 for Mac, Windows, Linux, and Android allowed a remote attacker to potentially maliciously modify objects via a crafted PDF file.
The bug was discovered 07/25/2017. The weakness was disclosed 10/27/2017 by Takeshi Terada with Ant-financial Light-Year Security Lab (Website). The advisory is available at security.gentoo.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-5108 since 01/02/2017. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
