A format string vulnerability existed in Screen Sharing Server's handling of the VNC username.
This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-5135 since 08/15/2013. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
