A vulnerability was found in TP-LINK TL-WVR, TL-WAR, TL-ER and TL-R (Router Operating System) (version now known) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function zone_get_effect_devices in the library /usr/lib/lua/luci/controller/admin/diagnostic.lua of the component uhttpd. The manipulation of the argument iface with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. TP-Link TL-WVR, TL-WAR, TL-ER, and TL-R devices allow remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters in the iface field of an admin/diagnostic command to cgi-bin/luci, related to the zone_get_effect_devices function in /usr/lib/lua/luci/controller/admin/diagnostic.lua in uhttpd.
