A vulnerability was found in TP-LINK TL-WVR, TL-WAR, TL-ER and TL-R (Router Operating System) (affected version unknown). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality in the library /usr/lib/lua/luci/controller/locale.lua of the file cgi-bin/luci of the component uhttpd. The manipulation as part of a HTTP Header leads to a path traversal vulnerability (File). The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. The locale feature in cgi-bin/luci on TP-Link TL-WVR, TL-WAR, TL-ER, and TL-R devices allows remote authenticated users to test for the existence of arbitrary files by making an operation=write;locale=%0d request, and then making an operation=read request with a crafted Accept-Language HTTP header, related to the set_sysinfo and get_sysinfo functions in /usr/lib/lua/luci/controller/locale.lua in uhttpd.
