A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Ffmpeg and Libav 0.8.8/2.0/9.8 (Multimedia Processing Software). Affected is an unknown code block of the file libavformat/rmdec.c of the component Stream Playback. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-476. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when the application dereferences a pointer that it expects to be valid, but is NULL, typically causing a crash or exit.
